It was beginning to become ridiculous, as annoyingly repetitive as a skipping record. No matter how hard they tried to fix the situation something always happened that made things that much worse. And in the end, the term “star crossed” showed its true meaning.

In the beginning ever thing was perfect, they were young and in love. The best part of their life being shared with someone who made it even better, emotions, swelling like a river after the rain. So enveloped in each other that nothing else mattered, the sun could never shine again and they would be content, as long as they had the other. Their bliss was soon destroyed by the people who claimed to love but to the two they seemed utterly heartless. “Your not going to be seeing him any more, you know your just another notch in his belt anyway”, “he doesn’t care about you, you two have no idea what love is your to young” as if love knew age. He heard the same things from his parents, that she was just some tramp that only wanted him for one thing; at least he could leave the house. The two of them couldn’t speak but for at school and these conversations only lasted minutes. They hardly saw each other, they hardly spoke but still, they waited. Months passed as they tried to salvage what was left of there butchered relationship. When she looked into his eyes they were nowhere near as bright as before, but her heart still leapt when she saw him. The love they shared for each other was so much that it hurt. Slowly their longing began to take its hold and so, they did what they saw fit. He snuck to her house one night, through her window. They lay together all night, holding each other, face to face staring into each others eyes. They both drank from the same glass that night, containing so questionable substance that gave them all they really wanted, to simply be together, in peace. The next morning the police found them, they’d been gone for hours, inside their entwined hands this poem was found; Indulge in me I’m open now, take me please grab my hand before I start to drown again wrap your hand around my wrist and pull me out of here. Make a path and lead me to, so I can walk its length with you, so entwined and caught within that I could not see sun again and be content in our to hands, just to be so lost with you. Walking through the dark with you as moonlight guides our way. Here with you I’d truly stay until all time does cease to be and in this sweet serenity is where my thought do dwell. They were buried on the same day, their graves next to each other. The poem was etched into their head stones. Forever star crossed lovers, bound to love by death. And that was the passing of things.
